What is linux, control unit, registers. eeprom, database, bus, lan, wan, man?

Linux is a computer operating system and its kernel, which also happens to be free and open-source.





Control Unit- part of a CPU or other device that directs its operation.





Hardware register- a placeholder for information about some hardware condition, configuration, or buffer





Processor register- a component inside a central processing unit for storing information, such as a memory address, or the inputs or results of a computation





eeprom- Electrically-Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory





bus - subsystem that transfers data or power between computer components inside a computer or between computers





LAN - Local Area Network





WAN - Wide Area Network or Wireless Area Network
